Project Overview
Aho Architects designed the second I Love Sushi restaurant in Huntsville. This 6,000 s.f. building was the first free-standing location for the client and includes a bar, sushi bar, and indoor, private, and outdoor dining areas.
Client Vision
The owners, three brothers and a business partner, envisioned a space that was both modern and inviting for their second sushi restaurant in the Huntsville area.
Exterior Design
Architectural Features: Interlocking masses in contrasting colors are intersected by a strong horizontal metal canopy that guides visitors to the entry.
Outdoor Dining: The exterior dining patio is integrated into the building form, offering open-air dining.
Scenic Views: The building is situated to take advantage of the natural beauty of the neighboring lake, fountain, and landscaping.
Interior Design
Design Principles: The interior design follows feng shui principles with clean, straight lines and a color palette of red, black, and white.
Dining Options: Guests can dine at the Drink Bar, Sushi Bar, bar-high tables, booths, or in the Tatami room, which features movable partitions for flexible party sizes.
Private Dining: Shoji screens in the Tatami room create an intimate setting for private parties.
Atmosphere: Dark ceilings and carefully-designed lighting complete the inviting atmosphere.
