New Student Center at Valley Street Campus
This new student center, located at the front of the Valley Street Campus of Gadsden State Community College, is approximately 4,100 square feet. It includes:
A large lecture room for 128 people, configurable for seminars, auditorium, or banquet seating, and can be subdivided into classrooms.
A lobby with vending machines and a cybercafé.
An office with A/V capabilities.
Storage with catering support.
Restroom facilities for large groups.
Funding and Collaboration
Title III funding was used for this project, as well as another project on the HBCU Valley Street Campus. Our firm worked closely with the Title III Coordinator to manage paperwork and meet funding deadlines.
Since 2009, Aho Architects has completed 30+ projects for Gadsden State Community College.
Sustainable Design Features
This project incorporates many sustainable "green" design features. GSCC requested that this new building, located at the front of the campus, showcase and embody the college’s mission to inspire hope, growth, and direction in its students and the community.
Interesting Fact
In 2017, Aho Architects helped the College renovate the instructional area of this facility to accommodate their growing Dental Hygiene Technology program.
