Bevill Center Renovation and Addition
The Bevill Center Renovation at the East Broad Street Campus of Gadsden State Community College was completed in three phases between 2009 and 2017. The building remained in service throughout the projects and great care was taken to minimize disruption to instructional programs.
Project Details
Initial Renovation Scope: The existing Bevill Center, which houses technical programs such as Drafting and Electronics, as well as Gadsden’s Alabama Technology Network Center, underwent extensive renovations. This included updating classrooms and instructional labs with new acoustical ceiling tiles, light fixtures, casework, doors, and interior finishes.
Subsequent Common Areas: Corridors and restrooms were also renovated to enhance common use areas.
Expansion: Lastly, the building was expanded with a new addition for the Precision Machining program.
Since 2009, Aho Architects has completed 30+ projects for Gadsden State Community College.
